TAG OIL EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP
Garth has extensive experience with both U.S. and Canadian Junior internationals. Over the length of his career he has been directly involved in the New Zealand oil and gas industry, and has been a director of several successful upstream oil companies operating in New Zealand and Papua New Guinea. Garth is a Certified General Accountant.
Mr. Vaccaro has over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Until 2006 he was a senior investment executive with major international brokerage firms, where he directed and provided investment consulting to high net worth individuals as well as corporate and institutional clients. Since 2006, Mr. Vaccaro has established a private client consulting practice in the financial services sector. Mr. Vaccaro is a member of the Fellowship Canadian Securities Institute and holds a diploma from the University of British Columbia in Urban Land Economics with double Majors.
Mr. Perone is an active member of the Law Society of British Columbia and is currently practicing as a corporate lawyer for a group of public companies. He obtained a B.A. with distinction in Sociology from the University of Victoria in 2001 and an LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 2005, and has previously articled at the law firm of Lang Michener LLP in their Vancouver, British Columbia office.
Dr. Bennett has extensive technical, operational and executive experience, and has enjoyed a successful 30-year career creating significant value for oil and gas companies based in Austalasia, Britain and Canada. He is a co-founder of Austral Pacific Energy Ltd. and was CEO from 1997 to 2005. During his tenure, he led the team that discovered several new oil and gas fields currently under development in New Zealand's Taranaki Basin and Papua New Guinea's Foreland Basin. In earlier years, with New Zealand Oil and Gas Ltd., Dr. Bennett led the team that discovered the highly profitable onshore Ngatoro and the major Kupe South offshore gas/condensate fields in the Taranaki.
Dr. Bennett received a Bachelor of Arts (Natural Sciences) from Cambridge University in 1968, a Master of Science in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leeds, and in 1973 a doctorate in Geophysics from the Australian National University with post-doctoral work at the University of Texas (Dallas).
Drew was the Chief Executive Officer of TAG Oil from April 2003 to Sept. 2007. During his tenure with TAG he was instrumental in transforming the company from exploration to an oil and gas producer. He has extensive oil and gas exploration experience in Canada and New Zealand and prior to working with TAG Oil, he was Vice President of Exploration for BTU Resources, and former Senior Geologist of Ulster Petroleums. Drew holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology from the University of Calgary.
Before joining TAG Oil, David worked with Mobil Oil in the North Sea, UK, where he was one of only two engineers invited to Mobil's Graduate Engineer Training Program. During this rigorous development program David experienced a broad range of petroleum engineering faculties, including drilling, completions, reservoir and facilities engineering and offshore operations. He then joined Advanced Well Technologies, one of the leading sources of consulting engineers in the Australasian area, working on projects in Australia, New Zealand and India. He has a B. Eng. from the University of Aberdeen and an MBA from the Cranfield School of Management in England, and is a member of the SPE.
